The Mexican government plans to reduce financial support for debt repayment to state-owned oil company Petronas to 81.1 billion pesos in 2027, a reduction of nearly 70% from this year's budget of 263.5 billion pesos. According to the 2027 budget plan submitted by Mexican President Claudia Simbaum to Congress on Tuesday evening, the government expects Pemex to achieve a fiscal surplus of 95.1 billion pesos. Last year, Mexico allocated $14 billion in capital to the company in the 2026 budget to repay its current year's debts.
