NASA contractor Rothe Development sprints to NASDAQ to raise $50 million

The Zhitong Finance App learned that Rothe Development, a contractor that provides engineering and mission operation services to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and other federal agencies, submitted an application to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Tuesday to raise up to 50 million US dollars through an initial public offering (IPO).

According to information, Rothe Development provides engineering, mission operations, and technical services to NASA, the Department of Defense, and other federal agencies, as well as precision calibration services for commercial customers. Its government services department operates through six major business lines: NASA's Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (the main astronaut training and mission simulation facility supporting the International Space Station and the “Artemis” program), mission control video systems and NASA television production, ground systems and telemetry and facility infrastructure, network security, IT services, and engineering services. Its commercial services division provides calibration and metrology services to aerospace, defense, energy, healthcare, and manufacturing customers. The majority of the company's revenue comes from NASA and is mainly based on cost plus contracts. The company's main operations are located in the Houston metropolitan area, close to NASA's Johnson Space Center.

The Webster, Texas-based company was founded in 1967 and achieved revenue of $122 million in the 12 months ending June 30, 2026. The company plans to list on Nasdaq, but has yet to disclose the stock code. Rothe Development secretly submitted an IPO application on July 29, 2026. Titan Partners acted as sole bookkeeper for the deal. Pricing terms have not been disclosed.
