Saudi Arabia's Delta Energy Group has signed a number of oil and gas cooperation agreements with the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan, involving oil and gas exploration in an area of about 23,300 square kilometers in western Afghanistan, gas utilization research in Herat, and gas pipeline construction. According to the agreement, Delta Energy will carry out geological and geophysical exploration, seismic surveys, exploration drilling, and reservoir evaluation in the Kushk-Tirpul block in Herat Province, and study the feasibility of supplying gas to areas such as Herat Industrial Park and Herat City. The two sides will also study the construction of a gas pipeline with a total length of about 700 kilometers to connect Herat and the surrounding area of Kandahar. Delta Energy expects a potential investment scale of about 10 billion US dollars over the next 10 years. The cooperation is expected to promote the development of oil and gas resources in Afghanistan and the construction of domestic gas infrastructure, and enhance its ability to connect the energy markets of Central Asia and South Asia.
