HSBC Holdings has hired Hannes Hofmann, who has worked for a long time at J.P. Morgan Chase, to serve billionaire private investment institutions. This is the latest round of management adjustments to the financial giant's private banking business. HSBC said in a statement that Hofmann will join HSBC on Thursday as head of the Global Family Office and is based in London. He previously held a similar position at Citigroup until last year. Meanwhile, Cayman Wills will also join HSBC from Citibank later this month as the head of HSBC's Private Bank of America. She previously helped manage Citi's service business for ultra-high net worth individuals in the northeastern United States. Prior to these appointments, Ida Liu, a former Citi executive, joined HSBC at the beginning of this year to take charge of the London-based bank's global private banking operations, succeeding Gabriel Castello. At the end of 2024, Annabel Spring left office when Group CEO Ai Qiaozhi promoted management adjustments, and Castello was later appointed as the interim CEO of the wealth management business.
