SANTA PAULA, Calif. (AP) — SANTA PAULA, Calif. (AP) — Limoneira Co. (LMNR) on Wednesday reported a loss of $3 million in its fiscal third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Santa Paula, California-based company said it had a loss of 17 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 2 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 19 cents per share.

The agribusiness company posted revenue of $43.8 million in the period, which also did not meet Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $49.6 million.
