HSBC Holdings (00005): CFO Pei-ying Guo plans to leave office in 2027

According to the Zhitong Finance App, HSBC Holdings (00005) announced that Guo Yiying, the Group's financial director, has met with the board of directors and plans to leave office in 2027, and will not seek re-election of directors at the 2027 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders. The date of her official retirement as Group Chief Financial Officer will be confirmed in due course, but no later than the date of the Company's 2027 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.

After retiring as Group Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director next year, Guo Peiying will act as an advisor to assist the Group CEO in carrying out ongoing strategic projects and ensure the smooth handover of the position to his successor.

HSBC Group Chairman Nie Chi-hang said, “Guo Yuying has made significant contributions to HSBC over the past 13 years. On my own behalf and on behalf of the Board, I would like to thank her for her outstanding accomplishments, dedication, and dedicated service. She has demonstrated keen judgment and a high level of integrity in internal audit, risk management and compliance, and finance positions. We would like to extend our deepest thanks and best wishes to her on her retirement as Group Chief Financial Officer.”

HSBC Group CEO Ai Qiaozhi said, “During her time as Group Chief Financial Officer for the past two years, and since joining HSBC, she has brought us great value with her rich experience, wise judgment, and strong commitment to financial discipline. I sincerely thank her for her support and assistance, and I am delighted that she will continue to work side by side with us as an advisor.”

Guo Peiying said, “I am honored to be a part of the leadership team since 2013, and proud that we are working together to drive HSBC's strategic transformation and ensure that the bank is fully prepared for further growth. With the bank in a strong financial and strategic position, 2027 will be the right time for me to welcome new leadership opportunities and use my experience in different situations.”

The board of directors has initiated procedures to select a successor to replace Guo Yuying as Group Chief Financial Officer, and will consider both internal and external candidates.
