The US Space Command released news on the 8th that it recently held its first actual space flight exercise to carry out in-orbit maneuvering operations through a real spacecraft to test America's relevant ideas and capabilities to operate in space competition and conflict environments, verify logistics support capabilities in a confrontation environment, and promote collaboration with allies and commercial space forces. According to reports, the code name for this exercise is “2026 Apollo Maneuver” and will take place in the first week of September. The exercise was mainly carried out around three tasks: coordinating the implementation of maneuvering operations in low Earth orbit, medium Earth orbit, and geosynchronous orbit; improving the concept of maneuvering combat to improve future action plans; and incorporating multinational forces and commercial space forces participating in the “Defenders of the Olympics” operation into the exercise.
