Alzinova Starts Preparations for Mid-stage Trial of Alzheimer's Disease Vaccine Candidate

01:30 AM EDT, 09/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Swedish biopharmaceutical group Alzinova (ALZ.ST) and partner Worldwide Clinical Trials commenced the operational start-up phase of a phase 2 study of Alzheimer's disease vaccine candidate ALZ-101, according to a Thursday release. The companies are setting up study systems and databases, preparing regulatory and ethics submissions, and allocating clinical trial sites following the study's kick-off. The global, randomized, placebo-controlled trial will enroll 120 participants, with recruitment expected to begin around the turn of 2026/2027. The study's primary endpoint is the change in cognitive function after 52 weeks of treatment, measured using the Alzheimer's Disease Composite Score, or ADCOMS.
