The 3rd China-East Africa Ministerial Dialogue on Law Enforcement and Security was held on the 10th in Lianyungang, Jiangsu. State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong and Rwandan Minister of the Interior Biruta served as co-chairs. In his keynote address, Wang Xiaohong pointed out that since the establishment of the China-East Africa Law Enforcement and Security Ministerial Dialogue Mechanism, strategic mutual trust between China and East African law enforcement agencies has steadily improved, practical cooperation has continued to deepen, and enforcement capacity building has achieved remarkable results, and a series of encouraging results have been achieved. Wang Xiaohong said that China is willing to work with East African countries to actively implement the four major global initiatives, adhere to cooperation and consultation, shared responsibilities, and share results around the theme of “working together to meet common challenges”, jointly consolidate and improve dialogue and cooperation mechanisms, continuously improve the level of law enforcement capabilities, and work together to combat transnational crimes such as terrorism, kidnapping and illegal detentions, telecommunication network fraud, etc., and co-create a new chapter of China-East Africa law enforcement and security cooperation to inject new development impetus into the joint construction of an all-weather common destiny between China and Africa in the new era. Representatives of East African Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization member countries and African Union Police Organization Executive Director Cherba expressed their gratitude to China for its long-term support and assistance to Africa, and that they are willing to work hand in hand with China to deepen practical cooperation in law enforcement and security to better promote regional security and stability.
