New CEO John Turnus and Greg Joswiak, senior vice president of marketing, were interviewed by Tom's Guide and TechRadar to further discuss the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone Duo, the first folding screen phone, including why Apple has only now entered the folding screen market, the design ideas behind the product, how to maintain the core design in the face of continuous supply chain leaks, and Tenus's feelings after taking over as CEO. Speaking about why Apple has waited until now to launch the iPhone Duo, Tenus said that the key is always when the product concept can meet Apple's standards for quality, durability, and design. “For Apple, the key has always been when the product idea can meet our standards for quality, durability, and design. What's particularly great about Duo is that the hardware and software really come together to create a very special product.” Tenus said that the iPhone Duo also gave Apple an opportunity to rethink the form of folding screen phones. “Duo was almost a new space for us where we could start from scratch, and there were so many things we could rethink. Whether it's hardware, software, or design, you can see this change. All of the pieces came together and it made us think this was the product we wanted.” Speaking about the starting price of $1,999, Tenus admits that the iPhone Duo is indeed more expensive than other phones, but the company believes the product is still worth the money. Josviak said, “Of course, it's called iPhone Duo for a reason; it's like putting two products together.”
