According to data released by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the US CPI rose 3.4% year on year and 0.4% month on month in August; after excluding highly volatile food and energy prices, the US core CPI rose 2.4% year on year and 0.3% month on month. As the last inflation data before the Federal Reserve's interest rate meeting next week, the newly released CPI is directly related to the market's final price on whether the Fed will raise interest rates next week. In terms of market reaction, the US dollar index rose in the short term and then declined somewhat. As of 11:10 Beijing time, the US dollar index fell slightly to 99.0756. US Treasury yields rebounded some of their gains after rising. The 2-year US Treasury yield hit an intraday high of 4.65%, at 4.594% as of press release.
