The International Organization for Migration issued an announcement on September 13 saying that due to the intensification of armed conflict between Yemeni government forces and the Houthis, more and more people have been forced to flee their homes. Currently, the number of people displaced in the country has exceeded 85,000, an increase of nearly 10,000 over the data released by the organization the day before. The south-western Yemeni province of Taiz was the worst affected, with the highest number of people displaced. The International Organization for Migration also said that many families had already been displaced several times during the previous multi-year conflict.
