Peter Clark, senior vice president of the liquefied natural gas business at ExxonMobil International Ltd., said that ExxonMobil expects its global LNG sales portfolio to reach about 50 million tons/year by 2030, which is higher than the previous forecast of 40 million tons. In an interview at the International Gas Technology Conference held in Bangkok on Monday, Clark said that total global demand for liquefied natural gas is expected to grow from about 400 million tons now to 500 million tons by 2030. Demand for liquefied natural gas is expected to reach 1 billion tons by 2050.
