Turkey's national news agency, Anadolu News Agency, quoted data from the Turkish Automobile Manufacturers Association as saying that in the first eight months of this year, total automobile production in Turkey fell 7.3% year on year to 841,583 vehicles. Car production declined by about 19% in the first eight months to 458,169 units. From January to August, motor vehicle exports fell 12% year on year to 597,594 units. Passenger car exports decreased by 28% year on year, while commercial vehicle exports increased by 9%. Total automobile exports increased 2.5% year over year in US dollars to 27.2 billion US dollars.
