Spanish Annual Inflation Rate Confirmed at 4.3% in August

03:22 AM EDT, 09/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Spain's annual inflation surged to 4.3% in August from 3.6% in July, final data from the National Statistics Institute confirmed Tuesday. The reading represents the highest level since February 2023. On a monthly basis, consumer prices in Spain were up 0.7%, in line with the initial reading, and against the previous 0.3% rise. The Spanish annual harmonized inflation rate was 4.6%, higher than the previous 3.9% and the flash estimate of 4.5%. Month over month, harmonized consumer prices grew 0.7%, above the initial data of a 0.6% gain and zero growth earlier. Meanwhile, the country's annual core inflation rate fell to 2.9% from 3%, matching the flash data.
