American Steel Košice, a subsidiary of Nippon Steel, will invest about 900 million euros to build an electric arc furnace and air separation plant at the Kosice plant in Slovakia. The investment can receive a subsidy of up to 350 million euros from the Slovak Government. The electric arc furnace has an annual production capacity of about 1.6 million tons. The project is expected to be put into operation in 2030.
