02:51 AM EDT, 09/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Swedish biopharma company BioArctic (BIOA-B.ST) said Wednesday that its partner Eisai secured Japanese approval for the subcutaneous autoinjector formulation of Leqembi to treat early Alzheimer's disease. The approval is backed by data and modeling from the 18-month core period of the phase 3 Clarity AD study in patients with mild cognitive impairment due to early Alzheimer's disease, along with subcutaneous administration sub-studies conducted during the trial's long-term extension. Leqembi Pen is expected to reduce treatment administration time compared with the drug's existing intravenous infusion formulation.
