The Zhitong Finance App learned that on September 16, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission) welcomed the strategic directions and key initiatives proposed by the Chief Executive in the “Hong Kong First Five-Year Plan” and “2026 Policy Address”.

The Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission fully supports the strategy formulated by the Hong Kong Government to consolidate Hong Kong's position as the world's leading international financial center. In particular, it supports the following measures: strengthening Hong Kong's function as a global offshore RMB business hub, an international asset and wealth management center, and an international risk management center; enhancing the depth, breadth and international ties of Hong Kong's capital market; and promoting the real economy and high-quality development through financial services.

The Five-Year Plan and Policy Address provide a coherent framework to enable Hong Kong to take advantage of its unique advantages under “one country, two systems”, deepen ties with mainland and global markets, and enhance competitiveness in the evolving global financial landscape.

Dr. Wong Tin Yew, Chairman of the Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission, said, “In view of the significance of the Five-Year Plan and the 2026 Policy Address for Hong Kong's future development, the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission will discuss at its upcoming monthly meeting how the Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission can further support the implementation of key measures in the Chief Executive's blueprint, including strengthening Hong Kong's function as a global offshore RMB business hub and international asset and wealth management center, and enhancing the depth, breadth and competitiveness of Hong Kong's capital market.”
