BioPorto Launches Patient Enrollment for Urine Test Study in Adults

05:38 AM EDT, 09/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BioPorto (BIOPOR.CO) enrolled the first patient in its validation study evaluating its ProNephro AKI urine test in adult patients with acute kidney injury, according to a Wednesday release. The ProNephro AKI US Adult Urine NGAL study, which follows the completion of an adult AKI cut-off study, will assess ProNephro AKI (NGAL)'s clinical performance for risk assessment of moderate-to-severe acute kidney injury in adult patients admitted to the intensive care unit. The in vitro diagnostics company plans to enroll 900 patients across multiple US clinical sites. ProNephro AKI (NGAL) is currently cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration for patients aged between three months and 21 years.
