According to the official account of Ningde Times, recently, Ningde Times officially signed a cooperation agreement with Egyptian battery manufacturer BME. On the basis of battery cell procurement intentions, Ningde Times will provide battery pack technical licensing, production equipment and training services to BME to further assist it in assembling and producing battery packs locally in Egypt. The battery pack factory is wholly invested and built by BME. The planned annual production capacity is 1 GWH, and mainly produces power batteries for heavy commercial vehicles. According to the long-term plan, it is expected that production capacity will be expanded to 5 GWh, and products will be extended to passenger car battery packs and supporting energy storage systems for photovoltaics and wind energy. BME was founded by Egyptian commercial vehicle manufacturer MCV in partnership with Auto D, a solution provider for the automotive industry. By introducing technology and equipment from the Ningde era, BME will directly supply local automobile manufacturers to fill the gap in local battery pack manufacturing in Egypt. In the future, Ningde Times will continue to work with global partners to promote the development of NEVs and energy storage industries.
