Today, the first “Hualong 1” nuclear power unit at the Hainan Free Trade Port, Huaneng Changjiang Nuclear Power Phase II Unit 3 will soon be officially put into commercial operation. The Huaneng Changjiang Nuclear Power Phase II project plans to build two stand-alone 1.2 million kilowatt units, No. 3 and No. 4. After the two units are fully completed, the annual power generation capacity can reach 18 billion kilowatt-hours, which can meet the electricity needs of one-third of the population of Hainan Province.
