Oil giant Saudi Aramco is trying to buy thousands of tons of diesel in the Mediterranean after successive attacks on its energy facilities over the past few weeks. This procurement action predates the attack on oil pipelines at Saudi refineries along the Red Sea coast last week, but it coincides with attacks on several fuel production facilities in the past few months. Businesses sometimes purchase alternative shipments when regular sources of supply are interrupted. The broker tracking the deal said Saudi Aramco had been bidding for diesel shipments in the pricing window of S&P Global's Platts Energy for several weeks. Market traders said that Saudi Aramco is also looking for gasoline supplies in Europe.
