The Zhitong Finance App learned that Nvidia (NVDA.US) CEO Huang Renxun predicts that as artificial intelligence technology accelerates its penetration into various industries, the company's chip sales are expected to double the current one year, indicating that global AI infrastructure demand will continue to grow strongly.

While attending an event convened by King Charles III of England in Scotland on Thursday, Wong In-hoon told the media that artificial intelligence is bringing great value to many industries, and the scope of its application is still expanding. As a major supplier to the global AI chip market, AI accelerators produced by Nvidia are widely used for training and reasoning artificial intelligence models.

Despite recent market concerns about the potential risks of rapid AI development, Wong In-hoon remains optimistic about the industry's prospects. Some people in the tech industry have previously called for a slowdown in AI technology development to reduce the security risks that artificial intelligence may bring. In response, Hwang In-hoon said that companies need to assume corresponding responsibilities to ensure product safety before launching AI software and services.

Nvidia's previously announced performance outlook also shows that demand for AI is still strong. Last month, the company expected sales to increase by about 70% year-on-year in the next fiscal year. Nvidia also said that if sufficient chip supply can be obtained to meet rapidly growing market demand, the company's revenue may even double.

AI data center construction and enterprises have continued to increase capital expenses related to artificial intelligence, driving Nvidia's rapid growth in recent years. As AI applications expand further from large technology companies to more industries, market demand for high-performance computing chips also continues to rise.

Boosted by Hwang In-hoon's latest statement and AI demand prospects, Nvidia's stock price rose 2.8% during the New York trading session on Thursday, helping to recover part of last week's decline. Since this year, the company's stock price has increased by about 17% cumulatively.

Hwang In-hoon's expectation that chip sales will double in the next year also further highlights Nvidia's confidence in the sustainability of the AI investment cycle. In the future, whether the company can obtain sufficient advanced chip production capacity and turn huge AI demand into actual shipment volume and revenue growth will be the focus of market attention.
