Data show that from January to August, the postal industry's business revenue (excluding the direct operating income of the Postal Savings Bank) totaled 1230.45 billion yuan, an increase of 6.0% over the previous year. Among them, the total revenue from the express delivery business reached 1028.92 billion yuan, an increase of 7.4% over the previous year. The total delivery business volume of the postal industry reached 145.46 billion units, an increase of 4.0% over the previous year. In August, the postal industry's business revenue reached 15.54 billion yuan, an increase of 5.3% over the previous year. Among them, the express delivery business revenue reached 127.15 billion yuan, an increase of 6.9% over the previous year.

The State Post Office announced the operation of the postal industry from January to August 2026

From January to August, the postal industry's business revenue (excluding the direct operating income of the Postal Savings Bank) totaled 1230.45 billion yuan, an increase of 6.0% over the previous year. Among them, the total revenue from the express delivery business reached 1028.92 billion yuan, an increase of 7.4% over the previous year.

From January to August, the total delivery business volume of the postal industry reached 145.46 billion units, an increase of 4.0% over the previous year. Among them, the express delivery business completed a total of 134.06 billion units, an increase of 4.6% over the previous year.

In August, the postal industry's business revenue reached 15.54 billion yuan, an increase of 5.3% over the previous year. Among them, the express delivery business revenue reached 127.15 billion yuan, an increase of 6.9% over the previous year.

In August, the postal industry's delivery business volume reached 18.03 billion units, an increase of 2.3% over the previous year. Among them, the express delivery business volume reached 16.60 billion units, an increase of 2.7% over the previous year.

In terms of business type, from January to August, the total express delivery business volume in the same city completed 9.75 billion units, a year-on-year decrease of 7.8%; the total number of offsite express delivery services completed 121.51 billion units, an increase of 5.7% over the previous year; and the total number of international/Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan express delivery business reached 2.80 billion units, an increase of 3.8% over the previous year.

From January to August, express delivery services in the same city, offsite, international/Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan accounted for 7.3%, 90.6%, and 2.1% of the total express delivery business volume, respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the share of express delivery business in the same city decreased by 1.0 percentage point, the share of offsite express delivery business increased by 1.0 percentage point, and the share of international/Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan business volume remained flat.

From January to August, the share of express delivery business revenue in the East, Central and Western regions was 73.7%, 15.6%, and 10.7%, respectively, while the share of express delivery business volume was 68.9%, 20.7%, and 10.4%, respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the share of express delivery business revenue in the eastern region decreased by 0.3 percentage points, and the share of express delivery business volume decreased by 2.5 percentage points; the share of express delivery business revenue in the central region increased 0.1 percentage points, and the share of express delivery business increased 1.3 percentage points; the share of express delivery business revenue in the western region increased 0.2 percentage points, and the share of express delivery business increased 1.2 percentage points.

From January to August, the express delivery business revenue brand concentration index CR8 was 86.9, down 0.1 from January to July; the express delivery business volume brand concentration index CR8 was 96.2, which was basically the same as in January-July.
