Switzerland to Impose Further Sanctions Against Belarus

11:07 AM EDT, 09/18/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Switzerland will adopt the remaining sanctions imposed by the European Union on Belarus, effective Sept. 19, amid the ongoing Russian war against Ukraine. The Swiss Federal Council said Friday the measures include the extension of the export ban on certain goods and the expansion of the list of goods and technologies subject to the transit ban via Belarus. Switzerland will also prohibit transactions of certain cryptocurrencies and central bank digital currencies, such as the Belarusian digital rouble, and extend the ban on the provision of managed security services to Belarus.
