According to reports, after Volkswagen issued a profit warning due to problems with its sports car subsidiary Porsche, Volkswagen's large-scale loss-making plan is expected to further cut more than 4,000 jobs at Porsche. According to a document documenting an agreement recently reached by Volkswagen's supervisory board, the group plans to cut “around 4,100 employees” under the Porsche brand to address the operating cost gap of around 700 million euros. The paper said the layoffs will be carried out “in addition to the existing agreement.” In July of this year, Porsche management reached an agreement with labor representatives to cut another 5,000 people on top of the 4,000 layoff plan previously determined; this means that the scale of layoffs will reach about one-fifth of its total number of employees by 2035.
