Potential Meitu, Inc. (HKG:1357) shareholders may wish to note that the Founder, Zeyuan Wu, recently bought HK$3.9m worth of stock, paying HK$3.90 for each share. However, it only increased shareholding by a small percentage, and it wasn't a huge purchase by absolute value, either.
Notably, that recent purchase by Founder Zeyuan Wu was not the only time they bought Meitu shares this year. They previously made an even bigger purchase of HK$6.4m worth of shares at a price of HK$4.02 per share. That implies that an insider found the current price of HK$4.04 per share to be enticing. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. While we always like to see insider buying, it's less meaningful if the purchases were made at much lower prices, as the opportunity they saw may have passed. The good news for Meitu share holders is that insiders were buying at near the current price.
In the last twelve months Meitu insiders were buying shares, but not selling. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. If you want to know exactly who sold, for how much, and when, simply click on the graph below!
