Boosted by rising bank stocks, combined with lower oil prices and talks with major countries to improve regional market sentiment, the Indian stock market rose for the fourth consecutive trading day. The Bombay Stock Exchange's Nifty 50 Index rose as high as 0.3% in the intraday period, followed by some of its gains; the Bombay Stock Exchange SENSEX Index rose 0.5%. The trend of the Indian stock market was in line with the Asian market, and the MSCI Asia Pacific Index rose 0.9%. Brent crude oil fell more than 2%, falling below $102 per barrel, and is expected to set the record for the longest continuous decline since mid-June. The fall in energy prices has eased inflationary pressure in fuel-importing countries. HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Kotak Mahendra Bank were the main rising stocks. Reliance Industries rose 1%, contributing the most to the rise in the Nifty 50 Index. Of the 50 constituent stocks of the index, 38 rose and 12 fell.
