WISeKey to Develop Post-quantum Semiconductor, Cybersecurity Center in Switzerland

01:30 AM EDT, 09/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- WISeKey International (WIHN.SW) and its unit SealSQ signed a memorandum of understanding with Switzerland's Canton of Jura to establish a post-quantum semiconductor and cybersecurity center in the canton. The project, dubbed Jura Center, would cost an estimated 40 million to 60 million francs over six years, the cybersecurity, blockchain, and internet-of-things company said Monday. Aimed at establishing sovereign semiconductor personalization capabilities in Switzerland, the initiative will be implemented through a public-private partnership. As such, the parties will now form a joint working group to develop the detailed business plan, including site selection and financing model, among other things. The preparatory work will be followed by a detailed implementation framework governing the establishment, financing and operation of the center.
