From September 17 to 18, 2026, the Financial Supervisory Authority held a seminar on financial supervision cooperation between China, ASEAN and neighboring countries in Nanning, Guangxi. This seminar on financial supervision cooperation between China, ASEAN and neighboring countries was held during the China-ASEAN Expo. Supervisory representatives attending the meeting introduced the latest developments, risks and regulatory concerns in the domestic financial industry. Industry representatives shared the experiences and practices of financial institutions in the application of artificial intelligence, and representatives of the ASEAN, China, Japan, and South Korea Macroeconomic Research Office exchanged views on the current status, prospects and risks and challenges of regional economic and financial development. Delegates at the meeting agreed that at present, the Asian region's economy and finance are stable overall, and that the rapid development of new technologies such as artificial intelligence has profoundly affected the way the financial industry operates, changing the way cross-border risks are expressed and spread within the region. Supervisory authorities should continue to deepen cross-border regulatory cooperation and jointly address risk challenges.
