Cox Infrastructure Group Unit Wins Arbitration in Ghana

05:42 AM EDT, 09/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Cox Infrastructure Group's (COXG.MC) unit, Befesa Desalination Developments Ghana, received two final awards in its favor under its arbitration against Ghana Water Co. and the Republic of Ghana, according to a Monday release. The tribunal ordered Ghana Water to pay Befesa Desalination $235 million for terminating a water purchase agreement, including interest from April 1 through the payment date. Ghana Water is also required to partially reimburse Befesa Desalination's legal costs. The tribunal also dismissed counterclaims of $144.5 million asserted against the Spain-based integrated utility company's subsidiary. The Republic of Ghana is obliged, under the sovereign guarantee, to satisfy the amounts awarded. The awards are final and binding upon the parties.
