On September 21, construction began on the Longxue North Lingang High-end Marine Equipment Manufacturing and Comprehensive Support Base Project in Nansha District, Guangzhou. The total investment of the project is about 7.25 billion yuan, combined with supporting projects such as roads and embankments. The overall investment is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan. By deepening collaboration between the central government and the region, the project will give full play to the location advantages of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Relying on the mature operating capacity of leading shipyards, the estimated annual output value will exceed 15 billion yuan after commissioning. It will make up for the shortcomings in high-end shipbuilding production capacity in South China, enhance the resilience of the shipbuilding industry chain, optimize the layout of the national shipbuilding industry, and help Guangzhou build the country's second and world-class “100 billion” marine industry cluster.
