UK Regulator Probes ABP Food Group's Acquisition of Extra Detail Ltd. Stake

08:55 AM EDT, 09/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK's antitrust regulator opened an investigation into Ireland-based food processing company ABP Food Group's acquisition of an indirect minority shareholding in Extra Detail Ltd. The Competition and Markets Authority on Sept. 17 served an initial enforcement order to the parties, according to a Monday notice. The enforcement order bars ABP Food from integrating the target business or transferring ownership. Under the probe, the CMA will assess whether the deal lessened competition in the UK, and if ABP Food and Extra Detail, including Dovecote Park, ceased to be distinct. Dovecote Park is a UK-based meat processing and production company.
