Ant Group forms a new Alipay business group, Wu Minzhi as president and CPO

The Zhitong Finance App learned that on September 21, Ant Group CEO Han Xinyi issued a letter from all employees announcing Alipay's organizational structure and personnel adjustments to accelerate the layout of smart businesses. According to the adjustment plan, Alipay Business Group, Digital Payment Business Group, and Sesame Credit Division will merge to form a new Alipay business group. Wu Minzhi will be the president of the new Alipay business group and will also serve as the CPO (Chief Talent Officer) of Ant Group.

This adjustment is an important organizational layout for Ant Group on the smart business circuit. Han Xinyi pointed out in a letter to all employees that the new business group will gather technology, products and ecological capabilities to respond more quickly to market changes. It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Ant Group has recently made major adjustments to Alipay related organizations. On December 23, 2024, Han Xinyi issued a letter from all employees announcing the establishment of two new business groups, the Digital Payment Business Group and the Alipay Business Group, to continue to advance the “Alipay Double Flywheel” and AI First Strategy, and to promote a rotating president system for the first time in the two major business groups for a term of six months. At the time, Han Xinyi officially announced that he would officially take over as CEO of Ant Group on March 1, 2025.
