Roche's Susvimo Gets EU Approval for Neovascular Age-related Macular Degeneration

12:07 PM EDT, 09/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Roche's (RO.SW) Susvimo, or ranibizumab, received approval from the European Commission for the treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration, or nAMD, a leading cause of vision loss in people aged over 60. The decision is based on results from three clinical studies in nAMD, according to a Monday release. In the phase 3 Archway trial, patients treated with Susvimo achieved and maintained vision outcomes equivalent to those of patients receiving monthly intravitreal ranibizumab injections. Meanwhile, data from the long-term extension study named Portal showed vision was maintained for up to seven years.
