The Zhitong Finance App learned that gold stocks were once again under pressure. As of press release, Zijin Gold International (02259) fell 4.26% to HK$148.20; Lingbao Gold (03330) fell 4.22% to HK$22.24; and Shandong Gold (01787) fell 1.96% to HK$21.96.

According to the news, another Federal Reserve official sounded an eagle. St. Louis Federal Reserve Chairman Alberto Mussalem said on Monday that due to strong demand and commodity price shocks (which have spread beyond oil), the Federal Reserve may need to raise interest rates further to reduce inflation. He also stressed that it is better for the Federal Reserve to act as soon as possible rather than wait.

CITIC Futures believes that judging from the pricing of gold itself, there was no new single macro narrative in the short term after the September rate hike was implemented. The market's focus on the independence of the Federal Reserve declined in stages, and the fall in oil prices also weakened energy inflation trading. Gold's sensitivity to actual interest rates on US bonds, the US dollar, and the statements of Fed officials may increase again.
