The “113+8” cities and regions added more than 3,100 new solid waste facilities of various types, adding about 1 billion tons/year. Approximately 59,000 “waste-free cells” have been built, covering scenarios such as parks, enterprises, communities, and schools. The next step will be to strengthen the links between the construction of “waste-free cities” and work in beautiful China pioneering zones, beautiful cities, beautiful villages, ecological civilization demonstration zones, etc., taking into account local wishes and capabilities, and adding about 100 new cities to carry out “waste-free city” construction, laying a solid foundation for achieving full coverage by 2035.
