On September 21, the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ireland continued to co-host the 3rd meeting of the China-Ireland Joint Committee on Science and Technology Cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science in Beijing. Minister of Science and Technology Yin Hejun and Ireland continued to attend the conference with Minister of Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science James Lawless and sign the “Memorandum of Understanding on Promoting Cooperation in Science and Technology Innovation” between the two departments. The ministers of the two countries held bilateral meetings prior to the joint committee. The ministers of the two countries fully acknowledged the fruitful results of scientific and technological innovation exchanges and cooperation between China and Ireland over the years, and stated that they will jointly promote the implementation of the consensus of the leaders of the two countries on strengthening and developing a mutually beneficial strategic partnership between China and Ireland, carry out further cooperation in areas of common concern to the two sides, such as energy and climate, food, water, health and nursing, agriculture, sustainable development and biodiversity, contribute more scientific and technological strength to the economic and social development of China and Ireland, and contribute more wisdom from China and Ireland to address global challenges.
