BlackBerry Limited (NYSE:BB) shares rose on Tuesday after Coretura selected Alloy Kore, marking the software platform’s first design win.
Separately, RBC Capital analyst Paul Treiber reiterated a Sector Perform rating and maintained a $9 price target on BlackBerry.
The stock was up as much as 8% in the premarket session on Tuesday.
Coretura, founded by Daimler Truck (OTC:DTRUY) and Volvo Group (OTC:VLVLY), selected Alloy Kore as the foundational software layer for its next-generation commercial vehicle platform.
Developed by Vector and BlackBerry’s QNX, Alloy Kore combines a safety-certified real-time operating system with pre-integrated automotive services.
Coretura will deploy it through the Vector Distribution, which adds middleware and integration capabilities for high-performance computing.
The platform aims to reduce integration work, shorten development cycles, and streamline certification.
The Coretura selection marks Alloy Kore’s first design win, providing commercial validation for the jointly developed platform.
QNX President John Wall said Coretura selected Alloy Kore "as the certified foundational software layer beneath" its vehicle platform.
Vector President Dr. Matthias Traub called Alloy Kore "a scalable foundation" designed to help automakers develop differentiated software faster.
BlackBerry shares remain above their major moving averages, including the 20-day SMA of $7.88, 50-day SMA of $8.47, 100-day SMA of $8.53 and 200-day SMA of $6.18.
The stock is about 49.3% above its 200-day average.
The shorter-term setup remains mixed, with the 20-day SMA below the 50-day SMA. However, the 50-day average remains above the 200-day SMA following May’s golden cross.
MACD is above its signal line with a positive histogram, indicating improving momentum.
Key resistance sits near $11, while $8 represents a nearby support area.
