Argentina and the US plan to announce an investment agreement on Wednesday aimed at financing infrastructure projects related to key minerals, commodities and energy exports, according to Infobae. The report said that the initial goal of the agreement was to raise 6 billion US dollars for the “Argentine LNG” project. The project was led by CNPC, with the participation of Italy's ENI Group and UAE XRG. The financing will be supported by the Export-Import Bank of America and private investors. It is expected that Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno and US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau will jointly announce this initiative. The “Argentine LNG” project is expected to have a total investment of 51 billion US dollars and will export liquefied natural gas produced in the Huacamuerta shale basin. In the upstream business of the project, YPF holds 36% of the shares, and ENI Group and XRG each hold 32% of the shares.
