On September 23, the Asian Development Bank released the “Asian Development Outlook 2026”. The report points out that although the current economic growth rate of developing economies in the Asia-Pacific region has slowed down compared to last year, the region's economy is still showing resilience in an increasingly severe situation. The report indicates that due to strong domestic demand, government stimulus measures, and continued strengthening of technology-related industries, the growth rate of developing economies in Asia and the Pacific is expected to be 5.0% in 2026. Although it is lower than 5.5% in 2025, it is slightly higher than the July forecast. The forecast for 2027 remains unchanged at 5.1%. According to the report, it is expected that a very strong El Niño phenomenon will occur this year, which will further drag down economic growth and increase price pressure. The region's inflation forecast for 2026 was lowered to 4.2%, while the 2027 inflation rate was slightly raised to 3.5%.
