The Zhitong Finance App learned that US President Donald Trump revealed in a document released on Tuesday that it carried out more than 1,100 securities transactions in July, including selling Microsoft (MSFT.US) and Amazon (AMZN.US) stocks of up to 25 million US dollars respectively, and their huge investment portfolios have experienced another month of frequent transactions.
According to an analysis of Trump's latest financial disclosure, the total amount of these 1,156 buy and sell transactions is between 79 million and 270 million US dollars. According to calculations, the total purchase amount was at least 43.6 million US dollars, and the total sales volume was at least 35.6 million US dollars, which appears to be a large-scale adjustment of its investment portfolio.
According to the documents, the biggest deal was the sale of 5 million to 25 million US dollars of Microsoft and Amazon shares respectively on July 20. Three days later, Trump reported buying $100,001 to $250,000 in Microsoft stock and $1,001 to $15,000 in Amazon stock.
The July 20 records also showed that Oracle shares were sold for $1 million to $5 million, while Nvidia shares, which included $500,001 to $1 million, were bought.
The documents also show that $250,001 to $500,000 of Northrop Grumman shares were sold on the same day. On the same day, Trump signed an executive order tightening supply chain requirements for defense contractors and limiting exemptions from purchasing certain critical materials from China and other covered countries. The disclosure documents did not indicate when the transaction occurred or who made the investment decision.
Trump also traded shares in companies led by Elon Musk.
He bought $15,001 to $50,000 in SpaceX shares on July 10 and sold $1,001 to $15,000 on July 17. SpaceX went public on June 12, making it the biggest IPO in history. A previous document showed that Trump bought $15,001 to $50,000 on June 23.
SpaceX is the main Pentagon contractor and NASA launch service provider, which gives Trump a financial interest in a company that does extensive business with the federal government. SpaceX also owns Musk's XAI, which has a Pentagon contract worth up to $200 million.
Trump has also traded Tesla several times. After buying $100,001 to $250,000 Tesla shares on June 15 and $15,000 to $50,000 the next day, he sold $131,004 to $365,000 Tesla shares in four trades, then bought $100,001 to $250,000 on July 27.
Musk was Trump's biggest financier in 2024 and later served as an adviser to his administration.
Although the documents show activities carried out on behalf of Trump, the broad value range conceals his exact position. However, frequent transactions have become a feature of his second term. In June, Trump revealed 1,051 transactions totaling between $78.1 million and $263.1 million, including purchases and sales of stocks, bonds, and exchange-traded funds.
According to the President's 2025 financial disclosure, he carried out more than 21,000 securities transactions in eight accounts and held at least US$858 million in assets, while in 2017 he disclosed 86 stock transactions in his first year in office.
The White House has defended these deals several times, saying that independent advisors managed the portfolio and that Trump and his family were not involved. However, presidents in recent years have usually divested individual shares or relied on blind trusts or diversified funds to avoid even apparent conflicts of interest.
In response to questions about Trump's latest disclosure, White House spokesman Davis Ingle said, “President Trump's stock and bond portfolio is managed independently by a third-party financial institution. President Trump and no one in his family have the power to direct, influence, or advise on how to invest in portfolios or when to buy and sell investments.”
The Trump Group did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the latest disclosure.
The July 20 deal was part of a larger rotation, which included purchases of Caijie, Mywell Technology, Safran, and Church & Dwight, respectively, for $1 million to $5 million. Trump also bought $250,000 to $500,000 Taser manufacturer Axon Enterprises, which often works with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Administration.
Trump also continues to transfer money between ETFs.
On July 8, Trump revealed that he purchased the State Street SPDR Bloomberg International Treasury Bond ETF, Fidelity MSCI Communications Services Index ETF, Pioneer Short-Term Bond Index ETF, and Pioneer Dividend Value-added Index Fund ETF, respectively, worth $1 million to $5 million.
On the same day, he sold the iShares US Treasury Bond ETF, the State Street Communications Services Select Industry SPDR ETF, and the iShares International Treasury Bond ETF for $1 million to $5 million respectively.
On July 8, after Trump stated at the NATO summit in Turkey that he thought the cease-fire with Iran had ended, soaring oil prices led to a rise in 10-year US Treasury yields.
Trump has also bought municipal bonds and other bonds in large quantities. According to the documents, he bought two Miami-Dade County, Florida aviation income bonds, one St. Louis County, Missouri school district bond, and one Main Street gas bond for $1 million to $5 million, respectively.
