The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission today announced a strategic action plan to support the implementation of the “Hong Kong First Five-Year Plan” and the 2026 “Policy Address”. Through a series of short, medium and long-term measures, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission will promote the high-quality development of Hong Kong's capital market and further strengthen Hong Kong's competitive advantage as an international financial center. The programme also strives to match the direction of the country's “15th Five-Year Plan” and enhance Hong Kong's unique role in the country's financial openness and high-level opening-up to the outside world. The Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission believes that the “Hong Kong First Five-Year Plan” and “Policy Address” provide a clear direction for the future development of Hong Kong's financial market. As a market regulator and market development promoter, the Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission will actively support the SAR government in promoting high-quality financial development, and work with the industry to transform policy direction into market results to enhance the depth, breadth and international competitiveness of Hong Kong's financial market. As far as strengthening Hong Kong's position as a global offshore RMB business hub, Dr. Wong Tin Yew, Chairman of the Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission, said, “Hong Kong has always been a unique and trustworthy bridge between mainland China and the world.
