08:28 AM EDT, 09/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BofA Global Research expects 2027 order trends to be the main focus point in the upcoming third-quarter 2026 results release of AB Volvo (VOLV-A.ST, VOLV-B.ST), d/b/a Volvo Group. "Key focus in 3Q26 will be early indications of order intake since opening books for 2027 in September, helping investors assess the sustainability of the current cycle. In addition, we expect further discussion around EPA 2027 strategies and customer reception, as most OEMs plan to offer both legacy and compliant engines, while competitor Daimler will exclusively offer the compliant engine," analysts said in a Thursday preview note. "Chinese competition in the truck market is becoming an increasingly prominent topic, as the industry transitions towards electrification." For the third quarter, the research firm lowered its US truck volume forecast to 13,000 units, against the consensus estimate of 13,700, expecting a negative impact on output from summer shutdowns. Looking ahead, the full-year 2026 group adjusted EBIT estimate was reduced by 1.8%, while the reported EPS projection was lowered by 1.9%. BofA also trimmed its forecasts for both metrics for 2027 and 2028. The Swedish truck maker is set to release its latest quarterly earnings report on Oct. 23. The stock's buy rating was reiterated, with a price objective of 380 kronor.
