According to the news, Microsoft announced the launch of a new version of Copilot, adding the three core capabilities of Home, Code, and Autopilot. The aim is to expand the AI assistant from a conversation tool to an intelligent agent that can perform tasks, build applications, and continue to work. Home will become a new entry point for Copilot, integrating Chat and Cowork functions, and integrating Office application capabilities such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint directly into the CoPilot experience, so that users can collaborate on these applications without leaving the AI tool.

The Code feature will allow users to create applications, tracking tools, data boards, and automated processes through natural language, run on the same underlying technology as GitHub Copilot, and will be gradually rolled out in the Microsoft Frontier project. Autopilot is Microsoft's digital agent, previously codenamed Scout. It can continue to perform tasks when users are not actively operating, including following up communication, managing processes, arranging meetings, and advancing projects. The feature will be extended to a private preview at the end of September.
