Poste Italiane's Telecom Italia Ownership Tops 85% After Reopening of Takeover Bid Acceptance Period

11:54 PM EDT, 09/27/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Poste Italiane (PST.MI) reported that its ownership in Telecom Italia (TIT.MI) increased to 1,832,917,988 shares, or 85.82% of the target's share capital, based on preliminary results of the reopened acceptance period for its takeover proposal. The acceptance period closed on Sept. 25 with 409,957,676 additional shares tendered for the offer, according to a same-day filing. In the initial acceptance period, the Milan-listed postal company's proposal received acceptances from holders of 993,596,322 shares in the targeted telecommunications operator. The final results of the reopened acceptance period are expected by Thursday, with settlement on Friday.
