On September 28, the European Commission announced that it approved Germany's Aequita Management SE to acquire full control of SABIC Europe B.V., a Dutch subsidiary of Saudi Basic Industries, to acquire SABIC's European business. The European Commission said the deal mainly involved the chemical industry. Since the merger market share of the two parties was limited after the transaction was completed, the Commission considered that it would not raise competition concerns and completed the review through a simplified merger review process.
