French Flash Annual Inflation Rate Climbs to 3% in September

02:57 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- France's annual inflation accelerated to 3% in September, from 2.4% in August, provisional data from statistics agency Insee showed Wednesday. The consensus estimate for the month was 2.8%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices were 0.3% lower, against the consensus estimate of a 0.5% decline and the prior 0.7% increase. The flash annual harmonized inflation rate came in at 3.4%, against the previous month's 2.6% and the expected 3.1%. Month over month, harmonized consumer prices dropped 0.4%, against the 0.7% growth earlier and the consensus estimate of a 0.5% fall.
