ArcelorMittal to Decide On Brazilian Mill Expansion by 2026-end

04:18 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- ArcelorMittal's (MT.AS, MTS.MC) head of Brazilian operations, Jorge Oliveira, said the steelmaker intends to make a final investment decision on the planned expansion of its Pecém steel mill in the country by the end of 2026, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday. The company plans to add a hot-rolled coil production line at the plant at an estimated cost of 5 billion Brazilian reais, the report said, citing the Brazil chief executive officer, who noted that the final decision remains subject to the ongoing studies. The expansion would boost the plant's capacity by 1.5 million tons.
