Soybeans failed to see strength on a friendly stocks number on Wednesday, with contracts down 2 ¼ to 5 cents at the close. Sharp losses in corn were a spillover pressure factor. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price was down 4 1/2 cents at $12.39 1/2. Soymeal futures were down $1.80 to $2.30, with Soy Oil steady to 16 points lower.

USDA reported a private export sale of 105,000 MT of soybeans to unknown destinations this morning.

NASS quarterly Grain Stocks data from this morning showed 315 mbu of soybeans on and at the end of August, i.e. the end of the 2025/26 marketing year. That was 10 mbu tighter compared to last year and 6 mbu lower vs. trade estimates of 321 mbu.

Export Sales data from USDA will be out on Thursday, with analysts surveyed by Reuters looking for 0.85 to 1 MMT in the week of September 24. Bean meal sales are seen in a range of 0 to 550,000 MT, with bean meal sales expected between net reductions of 10,000 MT and net sales of 3,000 MT.

USDA will release monthly Fats & Oils data on Thursday afternoon, with traders looking for 210.5 mbu of soybeans crushed in August. Soybean oil stocks on August 31 are seen at 1.774 bbu according to a Reuters survey of traders.
